What do you want others to know about EHE?
“EHE was silent for me. I was having chest pain and went to the ER thinking it was from stress, only to find out I had a rare disease. It was hard for me and my family to take in. I recommend always getting a second opinion as one oncologist wanted to put me on chemo. I did not allow this as I knew I was dealing with something rare, and I went to a large academic sarcoma center for a second opinion. There, my diagnosis was confirmed, and I was offered surgery. I learned chemo isn’t always the best option for EHE. So, know your body and always reach out for a second opinion. Stay strong, keep positive. I know it is hard and frustrating, but you can get through this too! Much love to all of us EHE patients.”
