Early Bird Registration is Open Through Monday, March 17th

Here's what you need to know:

There is no set event date!* It’s an event where everyone can participate in their own way, united by a common goal, no matter where they are.
Register by Monday, March 17th to receive your T-shirt in early April and save $5 on registration.

*If you are registering for a team holding an in-person event, contact your Team Captain for the date, time, and location of the event. If you're not sure, email Maggie Cameron for help!

Additional Information:

A second wave of registration is open through April 30th with T-shirts shipping in early May.
T-shirts and giveaways are not guaranteed for registrations made after May 1st.
Registration closes on June 15th.

About the Event

The EHE Fun Run & Walk is a flexible and inclusive event where participants register online and complete the run or walk on their own schedule and in their preferred location. Whether you choose to run, walk, or simply gather with friends and family, this event is all about coming together to support a shared cause. There is no set event date!* However, many participants choose to form teams and organize local, in-person events to make the experience even more meaningful. It’s an event where everyone can participate in their own way, united by a common goal, no matter where they are.

Our most anticipated awareness and fundraising event of the year brings communities together to support patients, raise awareness about EHE, and generate critical funds for advancing EHE research. Last year, the 8th Annual EHE Fun Run & Walk welcomed more than 1380 participants and nearly $80,000 toward impactful EHE research.

Teams

Creating a team can be an empowering way to connect with your community. Bring your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers into our virtual event and make it your own. Together, awareness is raised and critical research is funded as we imagine a bright future for everyone affected by EHE.

How to Create a Team

This year, creating a team is easier than ever! Built into the registration process, you can name your team, upload photos, and share your story on your team page. Share your team page link with your community to rally team members and donors. The best part is that you'll see your team's progress and milestones.

General FAQs

Why is the annual EHE Fun Run and Walk so important?

Do I have to be a runner to participate?

No, running is not required to participate in the EHE Fun Run and Walk! You only need a desire to support and encourage someone affected by EHE. You may choose to do a 5K (3.1 miles) or 1K (0.62 miles) by walking or running or however you like (biking, skating, swimming...the possibilities are endless!). You can split it up into smaller distances or even choose not to run or walk - we don't require you to report back on your results! We appreciate all efforts to advance awareness of EHE, whether that's gathering a large team for an in-person event or wearing your t-shirt year-round.

How do I access my Team Fundraising Page

As a Team Captain, what link do I share with my community?

RunSignup assigns every person who registers an individual fundraising page, including Team Captains. So Team Captains have a team fundraiser with a name they created and an individual fundraiser under their full name. Donations can come in under either one, and they all roll up under the team total. We recommend you share your Team Fundraising link since it provides the opportunity to join the team to receive an event T-shirt and/or donate. Your link was shared in an email with the subject line: New Team Fundraiser created for the 2025 EHE Fun Run & Walk.

Do registrations count toward my Team Total?

As a Team Captain, how can I track my team's registrations and donations?

There are two places to check your team's progress.

To see your Team Fundraising Total, look for your team name in the Top Teams section of our EHE Fun Run & Walk Registration page. That is the number used to award incentives. This number will match the progress bar on your Team Fundraising Page (see previous FAQ for instructions to access this page).
Login to your RunSignup Profile and scroll down to the big purple Fundraising tab. Look for your Fundraising Team. Links in that section provide reports on donations made to your team and team members who have registered and will receive a t-shirt. There is not a downloadable report that combines registration dollars with donations.

What size will my Team Captain apparel be?

Team Captain apparel will be ordered at the same time as the regular T-shirts. We will check Team totals on March 17th and April 30th to order Team Captain apparel.

Register by March 17, 2025, to receive your items in early April.
Register by April 30, 2025, to receive your items in early May.
Registrations made after April 30, 2025, are not guaranteed T-shirts and other giveaways.

Team Captain incentives stack. First, earn the heathered green Team Captain t-shirt with $500 in combined registrations and donations. Then the heathered green hoodie is earned when your team has amassed $2000 in combined registrations and donations.
