About the EHE Foundation

The EHE Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization working to advance research, raise awareness, and ultimately find a cure for epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE), an ultra-rare cancer. Individuals diagnosed with EHE face unique challenges, including limited access to specialized care, long and complex diagnostic processes, and the absence of approved treatments. Our mission is to support patients, foster collaboration, and lead the charge in finding treatments and a cure for this rare disease.

Position Overview

The Director of Development will play a critical role in shaping and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure vital resources for the Foundation’s mission. This position is central to driving the sustainability and growth of the organization by identifying, cultivating, and nurturing donor, grant, and corporate relationships. The Director will work closely with the Executive Director, leadership, and staff to elevate the Foundation’s efforts and ensure it meets or exceeds annual revenue targets. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Fundraising: Design and implement a strategic, multi-faceted fundraising plan that drives sustainable revenue growth for the Foundation.
  • Donor Engagement: Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the identification and submission of grant proposals to secure funding and ensure all reporting requirements are met.
  • Legacy Giving Programs: Develop and manage programs focused on recurring and legacy gifts.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Leverage the Foundation’s database to analyze donor trends, track giving patterns, and optimize fundraising efforts.
  • Event Support: Oversee fundraising events and campaigns, including third-party fundraisers, and ensure effective donor stewardship.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Establish and manage fundraising metrics, ensuring accurate tracking of donations, donor engagement, and overall progress toward financial goals.
  • Collaboration with Leadership: Partner with the Executive Director, Board, and other leaders to engage major donors and prospects and enhance the Foundation’s visibility and impact.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain accurate donor information, ensure timely acknowledgment of gifts, and support finance reconciliations related to revenue reporting.
  • Other Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the overall operations of the Foundation.

Qualifications:

  • A deep passion for advancing the mission of the EHE Foundation and improving the lives of those affected by rare cancer.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in development, nonprofit management, business, or marketing, with a strong focus on fundraising.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative team player who is willing to “do whatever it takes” to help the organization thrive.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a resourceful approach to overcoming obstacles.
  • Proficient in using technology and databases, including GSuite, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and social media. Willingness to learn new tools and technologies as needed.

  • The EHE Foundation is open to both part-time and full-time applicants.
  • This position offers flexibility, allowing you to work remotely from the location of your choice.
  • Travel may be required on a limited basis.
