Accelerating EHE Research
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a complex, ultra-rare sarcoma that presents significant scientific and clinical care challenges. While important advancements have been made to understand disease biology, there are currently no approved treatments for EHE, underscoring the urgent need for focused discovery and translational progress.
Focused on Advancing EHE Science
EHE Foundation plays a central role in shaping the EHE research landscape. As the largest dedicated source of funding focused exclusively on EHE, the Foundation directs investment toward areas of science with the greatest potential to drive progress.
Grounded in unmet clinical needs, our strategic research priorities include:
- Biomarkers for diagnosis, risk stratification, and surveillance
- Translational science to identify and advance potential treatments
- Disease models and tools that enable mechanistic discovery
- Clinical trials with strong rationale for evaluating new therapies
Our Impact on Science is Real
Through strategic investment and collaborative partnerships, EHE Foundation is accelerating EHE science. Through our grants program, Foundation-sponsored patient-powered research, the global EHE Collaborative Research Network, and active engagement in scientific and regulatory meetings, we are building momentum toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Prospective Observational Study
Our investment in POEM, a multinational observational study, exemplifies collaboration and the power of patients to advance EHE science. This strategic initiative aims to address our key priorities, generating important research tools, identifying biomarker candidates, building essential clinical data, and expanding disease insights. Clinicians, scientists, patients, and advocates are partnering, using novel approaches to improve the lives of people with EHE.
