Fueling High-Impact Science to Find a Cure

EHE Foundation’s research grants program is the largest dedicated funding source focused on advancing research to find better treatments and a cure for epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE). We support bold, innovative projects with the potential to expand biological understanding, identify therapeutic opportunities, and improve the lives of people diagnosed with EHE.

Expanding the EHE Research Landscape

Our goal is to transform EHE research and meaningfully improve lives by funding novel, cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical research. Through our grants program, we are building a stronger research community- bringing new investigators to EHE and fostering a community that shares knowledge to advance science and improve outcomes. We welcome proposals from researchers and clinician scientists studying EHE that have the potential to ultimately help people affected by this disease.

Our strategic research priorities include:

• Biomarkers for diagnosis, risk stratification, and surveillance
• Translational science to advance potential treatments (novel and repurposed drugs)
• Disease models and tools that enable mechanistic discovery
• Clinical trials with strong rationale for evaluating new therapies

Evaluation of Proposals

We use a two-step review process that begins with a Letter of Intent (LOI). Applicants whose proposed projects are deemed most impactful move to the second step and are invited to submit a full proposal.

Our work aims to break down barriers, facilitate impactful science, and improve lives. To ensure we remove barriers in research and accelerate science in this ultra-rare sarcoma, we require funded researchers to:

• Provide progress reports
• Participate in EHEF educational and scientific programming
• Commit to data and resource sharing

All proposals are reviewed by our Scientific Advisors and invited guest expert reviewers, and the Foundation’s Research Committee. Funding is ultimately determined by the EHEF Board of Directors with consideration of all reviews and the availability of funds.
