Patty Cogswell

Patty holds both a BS and MS in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester. Her career in cancer research spans 25 years, during which she authored more than 30 scientific publications. For much of her career, she served as a research scientist and lab manager at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Lineberger Cancer Center.

In 2012, Patty entered the rare cancer field as Manager of Research for the Chordoma Foundation, where she developed the organization’s biobank, cell line, and animal model repositories. In 2019, she founded Rare Biorepository Consulting LLC to help rare cancer foundations strengthen their research through specimen donation programs.

As EHE Biobank Principal Investigator, Patty brings deep expertise in biobanking and translational research infrastructure. She is committed to helping accelerate discovery and expand research opportunities in EHE.
