Kristianne Oristian, PhD

Kristi is originally from Maryland and now lives in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region. She earned her BS in Biochemistry from Elon University and her PhD in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology from Duke University. Before joining EHE Foundation, she spent more than a decade working in the sarcoma research and patient advocacy community.

As a scientist, Kristi specializes in fusion-driven sarcoma biology, the Hippo signaling pathway, and preclinical model systems. She is especially passionate about making research more accessible and meaningful to patients and families, and about advocating for the unique needs of the sarcoma community.

As Director of Research & Engagement, Kristi works closely with EHE Foundation’s Executive Director to help advance the organization’s strategic priorities in support of people affected by EHE. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking, animals, and spending time with her husband and stepson.
