Guy Weinberg, MD

Guy is a distinguished clinician-scientist, professor of anesthesiology at the University of Illinois Chicago, and internationally recognized leader in anesthesiology research. He is widely known for pioneering work demonstrating the use of lipid emulsion in resuscitation from local anesthetic overdose.

After his son was diagnosed with EHE in 2007, Dr. Weinberg founded the Center for Research and Analysis of Vascular Tumors (CRAVAT) Foundation to support research and education related to EHE. As a lifelong scientist and advocate, he has played an important role in catalyzing EHE research, including co-founding the “YAP/TAZ and TEAD: At the Crossroads of Cancer” workshop in 2017 at the Telluride Science Research Center.

That annual convening has helped strengthen collaboration across the Hippo-YAP/TAZ-TEAD field and has contributed to growing awareness, funding, and scientific momentum for EHE research worldwide.
