5th Annual EHE Fun Run and Walk Update:
Organizations across the nation have been advised by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to plan and prepare to prevent the spread of illness of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Many states have ordered a “stay at home” order and have allowed only “essential businesses” to remain open for at least a month.
Out of concern for the health and safety of patients, family, friends, volunteers, and other supporters, we recently moved the deadline to register to May 1st. However, we are now tentatively removing deadline date and leaving the registration end date open. The timeline recommended to complete the event (originally April 18th to May 3rd) was extended to any date during 2020. Unfortunately, our contracted business for printing of materials and t-shirts fall under the “non-essential” business category and have forced to close until at least the end of April. Due to this and the safety of our many packing volunteers, race packets (shirts, bracelets, temporary tattoos, etc) will not be mailed until at least mid-May. We apologize for the inconvenience and are happy to offer a refund to anyone that requests it.
The 5th Annual EHE Fun Run and Walk can be done anywhere (including as an individual in your own home), and we ask everyone follow the CDC’s guidance when selecting a safe and healthy environment and date (anytime during 2020) to complete this event. Please visit www.cdc.gov (CDC) or www.who.int (World Health Organization) for more information about safety precautions related to COVID-19.
We hope you’ll join us for the 5th Annual EHE Fun Run and Walk! 100% of the donations and profits from this event will be dedicated to EHE research.
This family fun event is for all ages and abilities. It is also virtual, which means it can be done anywhere you are. Simply register, receive your race packet, choose to do a 5K (3.1 miles) or 1K (.62 miles), and complete it anytime during 2020. You can do it alone or with others who register.
The price of $30 includes a t-shirt, race bib, EHE bracelet, and temporary “Just Live” tattoo.
Individual donors and companies have an opportunity to sponsor the 5th Annual EHE Fun Run and Walk. Also, each week we will be featuring stories of lives affected by EHE to help spread awareness.

My mother, Angie Stallings, passed away from EHE on February 1st of this year. It is an honor to walk in memory of her and in celebration of her life. To the caregivers of those who have battled or are currently battling EHE, thank you for your dedication and time. Watching someone you love suffer from such a terrible disease is extremely heartbreaking. But take hope. God is able.
Thank you to those who are fighting EHE on behalf of all patients. This group of amazing volunteers, those affected by EHE, doctors, sponsors, and donors have formed an extraordinary team through this organization. We look forward to this event every year and are always inspired by the community awareness and funding it raises. Thank you!
Running for my dear friend who got me into running. Defis!

To Kristen Carlton, you're an inspiration and the true vision of grace under pressure. "Just Live" is fitting and I will support you this April 25th.
Laney, people are faced with challenges everyday, you have been faced with the same one for 6 years and are still going strong. Stay positive, stay strong, stay awesome.
